grill in the rain
It was pouring down rain when I tried to grill out on Labor Day. However I wanted to teach my son an important lesson. It’s Labor Day, you gotta have something from the grill. Be it yours, or a good friend’s. It started pouring, but I would not be daunted from trying out the awesome burgers I had put together. You gotta do hand formed patties of ground beef, mixed with Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, a dash of Mrs. Dash, a drop of liquid smoke, and one egg to give the patties some consistency. I push a small thumb hole in the middle of the patty so they don’t puff up, and I drink one bottle of Yeungling for timing.
Here is my grill, with steam wafting off the top. The burgers were tasty, almost as delicious as the irony. The rain stopped about 5 minute after I served up the burgers.

In this video, MillionairePlayboy.com‘s Lando da Pimp and I hung out last weekend and cooked up some Cuban Style Burgers. Check out our video. Our friends at HollywoodHeroes.com sent us some Japanese BBQ kits to try out, so, we did. Then TheSpreadHeads.com sent us Mustard Marvin, and Ketchup Charlie. These are perfect for sprucing up any BBQ you’re having, so we included them in the video too.

I work in Washington DC and many of the merchants I come across post their Minimum Credit Card Purchase policy. I’ve tried to buy a $2 chocolate milk with my debit card and been told that I have to spend at least [$10] to use my credit card. Thanks to reading the The Consumerist I know that it is against the store’s Merchant Agreement to demand a minimum purchase.

A new article from The Times details a study where they left 240 wallets out, each with different pictures, (a baby, a family, a dog, or a nice elderly couple), and the ones with a baby were most likely to be returned to their owners… someting about the sympathetic nature of society towards infants.

When faced with the photograph of the baby people were far more likely to send the wallet back, the study found. In fact, only one in ten were hearthearted enough not to do so. With no picture to tug at the emotions, just one in seven were sent back.

According to Dr Wiseman the result reflects a compassionate instinct towards vulnerable infants that people have evolved to ensure the survival of future generations. “The baby kicked off a caring feeling in people, which is not surprising from an evolutionary perspective,” he said.

Thanks to the Consumerist.

Buy bib

My wife was slightly horrified at this video, so she made an instructional on how to Make Baby Food at Home (for real) to be a counter-point to this video.
Om Nom Nom bib now available!
This is a classic from 08 that I resurrected for April Fool’s Day

I’m starting a new series where I provide tips and suggestions for pimping out your diaper bag. And if you haven’t seen the video that started it all, here’s the How to Make Your Own Manly Diaper Bag for $20 tutorial. Here is our first tip:

My son is only 19 months old, but he loves coloring on the placemats at restaurants. Most of these establishments give us crayons (with their label on them) and I’ve been keeping them. We’ve got so many, at this rate we’ll never need to buy crayons again. Anyway, I keep a handful in my diaper bag for places that don’t give us crayons, but they keep getting crushed. So I bought a $.99 snap tight travel soap case at Wal*Mart (Sorry, Walmart * ), and that’s been working great. Free crayons, under a dollar for the case? What’s next?

Thanks to Real Simple magazine via Consumerist.com. (Who recommended a soap case for keeping your small digital camera safe.
