Last Friday the 13th and trucked up to Baltimore to check out the Nuclear Cowboyz. This spectacle pits the competing Soldiers of Havoc (blue uniforms) and the Metal Mulisha (black and gold) vs the invading Cyborg Army led by the evil Tempest. Will the Nuclear Cowboyz come together and defeat the Cyborg Army, saving mankind? Check out my pics below for all the high-flying stunts and pyrotechnics. Read the rest of this entry »

This is my favorite time of year for shooting outdoor photos… it’s nice and cool so your subjects won’t be hot and sweaty, and the fall colors add so much warmth and atmosphere to your pics. Also, with the earlier sunset times, we found that the golden hour, the hour before sunset, is a little easier to manage with younger subjects. Mobile game favorite Angry Birds were all over Toy Fair… the plush is cute, but I really dig the Dodge balls. (They even have the little treads) I have a feeling the baseball sized beanies are going to show up on workdesks across the country. When you’re bored at work, stack up some binders and folders like a house of cards and start tossing the birds at them. These will be coming out soon from the Commonwealth Toy Company.
Mattel is also releasing a “board” game where you fling plastic birds at simple pig house set ups. Fun! Click below to see more pics. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok parents, I want your feedback. Uncle Milton showed us one of the weirdest things at Toy Fair, the Ant Farm Revolution. This tubular lamp puts the green gel the ants can tunnel through above a light source. When ants cross over the magnifying glass, it projects their shadows on the ceiling. So in essence you have gigantic ant shadows crawling on your ceiling.
What is the age threshold for the awesomeness of this thing? I’d think a 7 year old would find it awesome, but a five year old would be scared at night? What do you think? Read the rest of this entry »
