I forgot to mention that before I jumped in to Ramsay’s book, that I actually started dabbling with online recipes. My favorite web site for recipes is AllRecipes.com. Check out why this is the best free place to get started…

All you have to do is type in one or more ingrediants to their search engine. Like “Chicken” “Cheese” “Bacon” (or all 3… why not) It’ll produce all the recipes that include those. The reason I like this place is because it’s all reader submitted and reader rated… so a real person uploaded their recipe, and then other real people tried it out and rated it. There are also very helpful comments listed under most recipes such as “you can substitute fat free milk” and other things people have learned when trying out the recipes themselves.

The photos are also taken by real people, so you’ll get a much better idea of what your final outcome will be. Too many times I’ve gotten frustrated with cook books because mine looked nothing like theirs in the book.

To make it even easier, you can change the number of servings, and it’ll automatically re-arrange the rest of the recipe. I am horrible at math… and if the recipe called for 5 and I’m serving 3, I get all kinds of tripped up.

One last little nice point are the printing options. It’ll automatically print out a shopping list for you, and you can have the recipe print out full page, or 3X5 to add to your mom’s old recipe box. Nice!

Anyway, here are some I have tried with some decent success

Go ahead and create a free account to store the recipes you like and add comments.
Anyway… its a great place to start.
