Ok parents, I want your feedback. Uncle Milton showed us one of the weirdest things at Toy Fair, the Ant Farm Revolution. This tubular lamp puts the green gel the ants can tunnel through above a light source. When ants cross over the magnifying glass, it projects their shadows on the ceiling. So in essence you have gigantic ant shadows crawling on your ceiling.
What is the age threshold for the awesomeness of this thing? I’d think a 7 year old would find it awesome, but a five year old would be scared at night? What do you think? Read the rest of this entry »

We’re heading to Toy Fair in NYC this weekend, so we’ll have pics, tweets and videos going up constantly. Now you can follow along, even on the go.
We’re giving away three (3) brand new Hexbug Nanos because we love them so much, we think you’ll get hooked once you play with one. There are three ways to enter the drawing to win.
We will pick one random winner from each of these methods. You can enter all three, but we’ll make sure it’s three different people who win.
We want you to follow us online so that you’re up to date with our live-Tweeting from Toy Fair. We’ll be there starting February 13th tweeting updates and photos in between our regular coverage and before the videos get posted, and we don’t want you to miss out.
(We also don’t want you to say “Yeah, yeah Mr. Stinkhead, I’ll follow you… or whatever” and then forget)
Good luck! The deadline is February 11th, because the next day I’ll be in NYC!
This morning I had a chat with Jack Logar from Magic 106.5 FM about the VTech Tote ‘N Go Laptop. My 3 year old son loves playing with his, but there are 30 different games, so this toy is good for ages 3-7. I like that the mouse and keyboard really give my son the sense it’s more of a computer, and not a baby toy. Check out vtechkids.com for more info. I’ll be covering VTech at Toy Fair next month, so stay tuned.
We’ve been playing with the Hexbug Nano set a lot lately and the batteries are dying. We went to Toys R Us tonight to get replacement batteries and they were all sold out of the $3 Hexbug Battery 2 packs. We found out the $3 three packs (Duracell 303/357) work just as well. Hooray!
We got to review the all new Fisher Price Thomas + Friends Zip Zoom Logging Adventure (motorized Thomas, plastic track) playset based on the new Thomas DVD Misty Island Rescue.
This set is out now, retails for $60, and is great for kids ages 3-6. (Buy in stores or from Amazon)
Check out the official web site for more information.
We had a blast with the all new Imaginext Big Foot from Fisher Price, check out the video above and my review with a bunch of more pics below. Read the rest of this entry »
Learning Curve, the makers of Thomas the Tank Engine’s wooden railway toys have captured the characters from Jim Henson’s Dinosaur Train and produced some great interactive toys. Check out this video of them in action, and then read my review below. Read the rest of this entry »
