Saw this on UglyDoggy.com, this ad campaign in Singapore is, I guess, aimed at adults? So they get classically dangerous stuff (chainsaw, razor blades, matches, a bottle full of pills) and sculpt it out of Play-Doh. Like we’ve said before, parents aren’t cool with mixing their adult and kid friendly worlds. Sometimes it’s hilarious, but most of the time, it’s pretty disturbing. Growing up, I was told not to make turds out of Play-Doh (I was 3)… my how the times have changed.
Check the link, UglyDoggy.com, for more pics.

me and the kid on Playmobil day

There’s a toy store in Vienna, VA called Once Upon A Time that holds an annual Playmobil Day. They held a display contest featuring photos of local kids’ playmobil displays. Ed, a rep from Playmobil USA is on hand to answer questions the kids and parents have, and they had some of the latest sets opened on a kid sized table to let them get some hands on play with the new sets. There’s also plenty of fresh lemonade and cookies galore. Oh, did I mention all playmobil toys are 20% off that day? It’s fantastic.
You’ll see us there next year hopefully playing with the upcoming Ghost Pirates and Dragon Castle lines. Stay tuned.

(Here is the picture I brought them of my son opening the pirate ship, they hung it up)

My two year old is currently obsessed with Bubbles… maybe he’d love these Zubbles? I’ll have to give em a test run.
Check out the guy who spent 15 years and $3 million perfecting his colored bubbles.
Here come the Zubbles

A new report from Reuters is claiming it will take almost $300,000 to raise a child born in 2008 to adulthood. They obviously do not buy Thomas the Tank Engine or Playmobil or XBoxes for their children.
Oh, the article states this doesn’t include the cost of college or childbirth.

Pricetag to raise a child — $291,570

The parenting blogosphere has been talking about the Gluton Bebe, (Glutton Baby) toy from Spain. It’s a doll that allows girls (and sure, boys) to simulate the act of breastfeeding a doll baby.
No really… Glutton Baby, The Breast Feeding Baby.

I think my main problem is, that even though the act of breastfeeding is natural and wonderful; just having breasts, real or imagined (or accentuated) is sexual, particularly in our society. (Someone once said, you stab a woman in the chest, the movie is PG-13, but if you kiss her chest, it’s rated R.)
Yes I think our society is a little too puritanical, but I think this toy goes a little too far.

What do you think?
